Julia McDonald

Julia McDonald is a pediatric nephrology fellow who was born in Weston, CT and received her undergraduate degree in psychology at Providence College. After working for 3 years as a clinical research assistant for Alzheimer’s disease therapies, she obtained her medical degree at Dartmouth School of Medicine. She then completed her residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where she has stayed for her nephrology fellowship training. She is currently a recipient of the TL1 NIH award and is pursuing a clinical research certificate program. Her research interests include evaluating traditional and novel biomarkers in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) liberalization in the hope to better characterize renal recovery. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, personal finance support for women, yoga and spending time with her husband and friends.
